Organisation of the school day
Arriving at school
Children are welcome to arrive in the playground from 8.30am when members of staff will be on duty in both playgrounds. Parents/carers of Early Years/Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 children are welcome to wait with their children in the little playground. We request that parents/carers of children in Years 3-6 leave their children under the supervision of the school staff and do not stand with them in the big playground.
The start of the day
The bell rings at 8.40am and the children line up in their classes. They are met by their teachers, who take them into school.
Early Years/Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 children have breaktimes in both the morning and the afternoon. Fruit and vegetables are provided each day for these children to enjoy at morning breaktime. Years 3-6 children have one breaktime in the morning and they may bring in their own healthy snack of fruit or vegetables to enjoy. The school works in partnership with Cool Milk to provide milk for the children at morning breaktimes. Leaflets are available from the school office.
All children have an hour for lunch. The start of lunchtime is 11.50am for Early Years/Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 classes and slightly later at 12.05pm for Years 3-6.
The school day ends at 3.10pm. The teachers dismiss the children from their own classrooms.
