Spring Term 2 Update:
We are excited to share that we will be running an OPAL Play Bingo event!
As part of our ongoing OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme, each class has been given an OPAL Bingo Sheet containing a list of items that can be brought in from home to support and enrich our outdoor play provision.
We are kindly asking for donations of these items from home to help us continue building an exciting and creative outdoor play environment for all children. Every time someone in the class brings in an item from the list, they get to cross it off the class bingo card.
The challenge is simple: The first class to complete their entire bingo card will win a 1-hour extra OPAL play session!
We are really looking forward to seeing the children get involved and work together towards their class goal. Even small donations make a big difference, and we are very grateful for your support in helping us grow our OPAL resources.
O.P.A.L (Outdoor Play And Learning) has come to St Mary's!
The children have really enjoyed the introduction of OPAL to our school. We have seen children really engaged with their play and working well with each other.
To enhance our outdoor provision, we have already introduced the following to our lunchtimes:
- Bubbles, chalks, music, ball games, dressing up, ribbons, cars and ramps and a quiet, calm area.
- We have recently added: lego, large loose parts for den building, a mud kitchen, a digging area, trikes and dollies, and hoops. The playground is a fun and busy place to be at lunchtime!
Please read our OPAL newsletters for further updates!
